East Coast Family Road Trip: Day 6

West Point NY via Philadelphia, PA, Wilmington, DE, Baltimore, MD, Arlington, VA

Me: “Hall-oh!”
Blair: “Hall-oh!”

Blair: “My name is Inigo Montoya!”

Me: “You kilt my fah-thur!”
Blair: “You kilt my fah-thur!”
Me: “Pre-pare to die!”
Blair: “Pre-pare to die!”

This is one of our new car games. I’ve also been annoying Rowan every time I see two silos next to each other. “Look, Ro! Eleven!” since we started the road trip on Rowan’s eleventh birthday.

At 5:25 a.m. this morning I awoke to the sound of hundreds of West Point cadets hoo-rahing over morning P.T. Rowan was annoyed that they were so loud when we were trying to sleep until I informed her that it was actually us who were on their turf, not the other way around.

Can I just say that it is really humiliating to be pulled over by a bicycle cop at a tourist area?  Can I really just not follow simple traffic rules? (HINT: the ANSWER is NO). The girls have become twitchy at the sight of officials and it’s totally my stupid-ass fault.
We made our way through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, WDC, and Virginia. Today.

  1. You know how it is in WDC. If you take a wrong exit, you pay for it for fifteen minutes trying to get back to where you were. I made a last minute driving decision to avoid that scenario. I think I’m a menace only to myself…
